I’m homebrewing my brother’s wii, and when I open a game up on his USB Loader GX, it boots back to the system menu. I then plugged the same USB into my Wii, and the game opens up. Just in case someone needs to know, I transferred files from my Wii’s USB, to his USB via Wii Backup manager. Since the Wii shop has come to an end I decided to make a video about installing WAD Files. You don't HAVE to use an SD card but u can also use a USB Stick.
- The first known method of loading unsigned code on a Wii (without a hardware mod) is known as the Twilight hack (a software mod). It allows users to run unsigned.dol/.elf files. The exploit was superseded by the development of BannerBomb, which allows users to run unsigned code on the console without relying on an exploit within a game.

CHANGELOG -Fixed bug fetching region for some system menus that was introduced in 2.9-Fixed IOS 3 not showing in IOS menu-Changed so if it crashes it will reboot in 5 seconds-Fixed some issues with install cios-Changed batch wad (un)/installs so it says what # its on.
The first known method of loading unsigned code on a Wii (without a hardware mod) is known as the Twilight hack (a software mod). It allows users to run unsigned .dol/.elf files. The exploit was superseded by the development of BannerBomb, which allows users to run unsigned code on the console without relying on an exploit within a game. Bannerbomb works by using a malformed banner to inject a loader program into the Wii Menu program in memory. As the Wii Menu crashes, an unsigned executable is executed. Bannerbomb was superseded by Letterbomb, which uses a glitch in the Wii Message Board to crash the Wii Menu and load the .dol/elf file, allowing the user to install the Homebrew Channel. LetterBomb is the exploit that is used in this guide.

How To Install Wii Homebrew
- You need a Nintendo Wii and a computer (both connected to the internet), and a Wii controller.
- You will need both a SD card (SD/SDHC or micro SD/SDHC cards will work) and a USB hard drive (flash drives, external hard drives, or solid state drives will work).
- You will use the SD card to perform the LetterBomb exploit and to store a range of apps that you will learn about later in this guide.
- Use the SD card slot located in the front of the Wii.
- You will use the USB hard drive to store and load games, that will be its main purpose.
- Always use the USB port on the back of the Wii that is nearest to the edge (outermost).
- This guide is for the Wii only, with the latest firmware (4.3 U, E, J, or K). Do not use this on a Wii U (vWii)!
